Pond medications can erraidcate parasites or help with minor bacterial infection but they are rarely effective against physical wounds and ulcers. Treating the fish topically will be more effective and potentially life saving. The Kusuri Ulcer Kit has been compiled to be used by beginners and experienced fish keepers alike and will give you the best chance of repairing the damage. The fully comprehensive boxed Kusuri Ulcer Kit is supplied with the following:
All Kusuri Ulcer Kit components are replaceable, so you need never run short of any particular item. If there is one thing you should keep at home for your Koi this is it. Most ulcers are the result of an underlying water quality issue. Poor water quality will adversely affect any healing process especially if Ammonia or Nitrite is high. Please check your water quality and address any issues you find. No treatment will be effective if the water your fish live in is toxic. The Kusuri Ulcer Kit can be used at any temperature any time of the year, although fish will heal quicker if the water temperature is above 15°C. Do not be put off if the temperature is lower though, keeping the wound clean and free of bacteria at any temperature is better than leaving it to get worse. The Kusuri Ulcer Kit contains chemicals and should be stored away from children & pets. Please ensure that you read, understand and follow all safety guidelines included with the product. While the topical treatments are safe for use with sturgeons it is not wise to sedate them. Therefore, we do not recommend the use of Koi Sedate with any species of sturgeon. Fortunately sturgeons rarely suffer from ulcers. |
