Silt Remover

For removing organic silt from ponds.
Silt Remover is a calcium carbonate (chalk) that is finely powdered and very porous that is applied by spreading evenly over the entire suface of the pond and allowing it to sink, initally can turn the pond milky but will clear suspended material as it settles to the bottom. As it sinks it provides oxygen to the bactira that live in the orgainc silt and allows them to work more efficently reducing the silt layer.

While in most situations removing the silt is normally the best option, this is not always possible or desirable to the pond keeper in which case Silt remover should be considered, Under ideal conditions Silt remover can consume as much as 20-25cm (8-10 inches) of silt a year.

Silt remover is harmless to fish, birds, humans, pets, mammals and water plants but can help with algae and blanketweed problems.

Benefits to the pond
Increases Oxygen to aerobic bactira and so decreses orgainc silt levels.
Settles suspended solids and improves water clarity.
Reduces methane levels in the silt.
Buffers pH.
Is a good source of calcium for plants and animals.

Dose guide:
All treatments should be dosed as per the supplied instructions.
Silt remover is applied by surface area of the pond rather than water volume.
